Twin Element Sensors for a retrofit project

Hurtwood have been deploying their twin space and duct element sensors during the retrofit upgrade of a legacy Sauter EY2400 building management system (BMS).

The sensors utilize the 3 and 4 wire cabling from the original Ni200 sensors. The twin element provides more accurate, and therefore energy efficient, control and an intelligent way of identifying sensor drift. This therefore allows sensor calibrations to be focused on those sensors showing a discrepancy between the 2 elements. Hence precious maintenance resource can be better focused.

The sensors employ a robust head from the process industry that provides a far more professional looking sensor than many on the market. Furthermore, the sensors have a calibration mode that puts a 0.1% accurate 10K resistor across each input. This assists commissioning and allows the commissioning engineer to check that there are unknown resistances in the original cabling. This eliminates surprises that can creep into original BMS cabling installations.

Dishant, one of our graduate trainees was very proud of his handiwork! He made this at HQ and kindly allowed us to take pictures while he worked.
